I’ve come to terms with Religion….Hallelujah!!!
Religion and Spiritualism to me is very personal and special that only few individuals get to experience in their lifetime. Involving those two specifically into dance was something that I never really understood or thought of until this class. I wasn’t raised in a very religious family but my extended family worship in church twice a week and I would go a few times a month when I was in a dazed and confused adolescent state of mind. Going to church and not understand what was going on, I got to visually experience of praise dance/mime dance on some Sundays and a special religious events of the month. It was a unique and joyful experience to see and feel for the first time at such a young age.
As I got older I was slowly and unconsciously distancing myself away from the religious world an since then that was my only church experience of religion dance of some sort. I lacked a lot of positive guidance from growing up in a small family and community. At some point in my teenage years I felt strongly that I owed it to myself to find some clarity and understanding to the beautiful wonderland in my vicinity. Looking back now I see that I didn’t get any justification to why religion was so important to oneself, so I began my own journey to hope, faith and the higher power. By the age of 17 I was pretty focus on individuality, music, and the morals I chose to follow in society. Later which helped me become an open minded individual, especially when it came to music. The summer before my senior year, I was introduced to this new up and coming band called “PARAMORE”.
This band was something different I felt it in one of their singles “Emergency“, the lyrics touched me deep to tears. Since hearing that single I could not stop listening to what I describe as a Nashville Christian band according to their fresh and subliminal godly-like lyrics. As their success continued grow a quick approach to their highly anticipated third album “Brand New Eyes” was to it’s arrival. After listening to this album it was no doubt that the old folk tale “the third time is a charm” was playing on their side. This new album and tracks was filled with the band’s hard work and faith given that they almost broke up after their certified multi-platinum second album. Despite the rumors “Brand New Eyes” delivered a tasteful straightforward sound and a few subliminally messages about their struggles and personal religious relationships. Overall, dancing and listening to Paramore’s faithful lyrics it really moved me to a better place and helped me understand more about this cold world and myself. I didn’t come from a religious family when I was a young individual in my urban community but later he found me through one medium that makes me feel gay and peaceful, always.

SXEPhil asked…Do you think FACEBOOK will be around in 5 plus yrs?
My answer….FACEBOOK has definitely impact my social generation to be what it is. If facebook were to not exist anymore, the next best social network would have to a step up from what facebook already is to date…For example, when someone goes from being a pothead to a crackhead that’s a new high experience. FACEBOOK is society’s crack so if some genius could create an new improve social frizzy being equal to ecstasy/heron experience then challenge accepted….
